Andarine powder is a non-steroidal selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) that has tissue-selective androgenic and anabolic effects in animals. It improves muscle strength and prevents bone loss in orchidectomized rats. Like other SARMs, andarine produces anabolic effects in muscle and bone without androgenic effects. Anabolic agents, including andarine and other SARMs, are prohibited by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Andarine powder, also known as GTx-007 and S-4, is an investigational selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) for treatment of conditions such as muscle wasting, osteoporosis and benign prostatic hypertrophy. Andarine is an orally active partial agonist for androgen receptors. It is less potent in both anabolic and androgenic effects than other SARMs. In an animal model of benign prostatic hypertrophy, andarine was shown to reduce prostate weight with similar efficacy to finasteride, but without producing any reduction in muscle mass or anti-androgenic side effects.

While steroidal SARMs have been around since the 1940s, a number of nonsteroidal SARMs that do not serve as substrates for CYP19 aromatase or 5α-reductase,Andarine is a selective androgen receptor modulator, or SARM.
